2. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD LH INTERIOR PANELS / TRIM: ROOF HEADLINING: REMOVAL (2008 Sequoia)+

3. REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL LH INTERIOR PANELS / TRIM: INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD: REMOVAL (2008 Sequoia)+

4. REMOVE HOOD LOCK CONTROL LEVER SUB-ASSEMBLY DOOR / HATCH: HOOD LOCK CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY: REMOVAL (2008 Sequoia)+

5. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY LH INTERIOR PANELS / TRIM: INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD: REMOVAL (2008 Sequoia)+

6. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD INSERT INTERIOR PANELS / TRIM: INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD: REMOVAL (2008 Sequoia)+

7. RELEASE PARKING BRAKE PEDAL

8. DISCONNECT NO. 1 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY PARKING BRAKE: PARKING BRAKE PEDAL: REMOVAL (2008 Sequoia)+

9. REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY (for 3UR-FE) 3UR-FE INTAKE / EXHAUST: EXHAUST PIPE: REMOVAL (2008 Sequoia)+

10. REMOVE FRONT NO. 3 EXHAUST PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY (for 2UZ-FE) 2UZ-FE INTAKE / EXHAUST: EXHAUST PIPE: REMOVAL (2008 Sequoia)+

11. REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY (for 2UZ-FE) 2UZ-FE INTAKE / EXHAUST: EXHAUST PIPE: REMOVAL (2008 Sequoia)+

12. REMOVE NO. 1 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the adjustment nut and lock nut (labeled A).

(b) Remove the bolt (labeled B) and cable retainer.

(c) Remove the nut (labeled C) and clamp from the body.

(d) Disconnect the clamp (labeled D) from the No. 1 parking brake cable.

(e) Remove the 2 bolts (labeled E) and No. 1 parking brake cable from the inside of the vehicle.

NOTICE:

Do not bend and twist the parking brake cable.

13. REMOVE REAR WHEEL LH

14. REMOVE REAR WHEEL RH

15. DISCONNECT REAR DISC BRAKE CYLINDER ASSEMBLY LH PARKING BRAKE: PARKING BRAKE ASSEMBLY: DISASSEMBLY (2008 Sequoia)+

16. DISCONNECT REAR DISC BRAKE CYLINDER ASSEMBLY RH

HINT:

Use the same procedure for both sides.

17. REMOVE REAR DISC LH BRAKE (REAR): REAR BRAKE: REMOVAL (2008 Sequoia)+

18. REMOVE REAR DISC RH

HINT:

Use the same procedure for both sides.

19. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE SHOE RETURN SPRING LH PARKING BRAKE: PARKING BRAKE ASSEMBLY: DISASSEMBLY (2008 Sequoia)+

20. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE SHOE RETURN SPRING RH

HINT:

Use the same procedure for both sides.

21. REMOVE NO. 1 PARKING BRAKE SHOE ASSEMBLY LH PARKING BRAKE: PARKING BRAKE ASSEMBLY: DISASSEMBLY (2008 Sequoia)+

22. REMOVE NO. 1 PARKING BRAKE SHOE ASSEMBLY RH

HINT:

Use the same procedure for both sides.

23. REMOVE NO. 2 PARKING BRAKE SHOE ASSEMBLY LH PARKING BRAKE: PARKING BRAKE ASSEMBLY: DISASSEMBLY (2008 Sequoia)+

24. REMOVE NO. 2 PARKING BRAKE SHOE ASSEMBLY RH

HINT:

Use the same procedure for both sides.

25. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE SHOE LEVER LH PARKING BRAKE: PARKING BRAKE ASSEMBLY: DISASSEMBLY (2008 Sequoia)+

26. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE SHOE LEVER RH

HINT:

Use the same procedure for both sides.

27. REMOVE INTERMEDIATE LEVER TENSION SPRING

(a) Remove the tension spring.

28. REMOVE NO. 2 CABLE RETAINER

(a) Remove the bolt and cable retainer.

29. REMOVE NO. 3 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY



(a) Disconnect the No. 3 parking brake cable from the intermediate lever.

(b) Remove the 4 bolts and disconnect the No. 3 parking brake cable from the frame.

NOTICE:

Do not bend and twist the parking brake cable.

(c) Remove the bolt and No. 3 parking brake cable from the rear axle carrier.

30. REMOVE NO. 2 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY



HINT:

The No. 2 parking brake cable bolt locations are symmetric to those of the No. 3 parking brake cable, with the exception of the locations indicated with "*A".

(a) Disconnect the No. 2 parking brake cable from the intermediate lever.

(b) Remove the 8 bolts and disconnect the No. 2 parking brake cable from the frame.

(c) Remove the bolt and the No. 2 parking brake cable from the rear axle carrier.
